Creating superheroes to protect our oceans.

“Few people will protect the natural world if they first don’t love and understand it.”

— Sir David Attenborough

To love and understand the natural world, we must first address its accessibility.

Here’s how we’re doing just that.

Beach and underwater cleanups.

We’re incentivizing certified divers to explore and protect their local waters by providing free rental scuba gear at our monthly underwater cleanups.

We introduced 40 divers with a wide level of experiences to NYC’s waters. “I never knew there was coral in NYC!” or “I saw so many starfish!” usually find their way out from behind smiles and regulators. From their third dive as open water divers to their three hundred something-th dive as dive instructors – local diving ambassadors were born.

Our volunteers removed over 10,000 items of debris weighing more than 1,200 pounds from underwater and on shore. We keep the plastic collected to ensure it’s recycled into something that’s not single use. Join us at one of our monthly cleanups to be part of removing our first 5,000 pounds of debris.
